A Brief History of The West End Baptist Church

The History of the West End Baptist Church demonstrates what God can do through a few faithful, obedient, and determined believers.

In the late 1970's God began speaking to a few committed local Baptist believers about a new evangelical work in the Industry, Texas area. Their heart's vision became a reality on July 6, 1980 and the believers began to meet in the home of John and Judy Winship just a few miles South from the town of Industry.

The Lord continued to encourage the new church family with numerical growth and on August 24, 1980, the church moved it's meeting place to the West End Elementary School cafeteria. By February, 1983, a building fund was established, property was purchased, and work soon began on a permanent home the West End Baptist Church family.

On May 20, 1984, the church became an independent local body of believers associated with the Southern Baptist Convention. Since then God has continued to bring blessing and victory to the West End Baptist Church family.
